Other Jeremy Bentham identities in the Lost alternate endings
So Lost filmed two alternate endings, with two other Losties lying in the coffin. Of course, we have seen the real ending, and Jeremy Bentham is Locke…
Now, here are the two alternate endings.
Yep, both Sawyer and Desmond were filmed as being in the coffin. What is interesting is that when these endings were shown on Good Morning America, they seemed to imply that if the story got leaked as confirmed that Jeremy Bentham was Locke, that they would substitute one of the other two as being in the coffin. Too bad they didn’t film that scene with all the Losties taking turns as being the one in the coffin… or it would have been a total freak out to see if Boone, Charlie, Eko, or one of the other now-deceased Losties had been in the coffin!
So Jeremy Bentham is John Locke
After a lot of speculation after scrutinizing the hires screenshot of the newspaper ad and analyzing all the theories of who was in that coffin, we finally know that it is actually John Locke. But he was going by the name of Jeremy Bentham… and it was what was on the body papers and name believed to be in the newspaper clipping Jack was holding.
So why was he using the name of Jeremy Bentham, who was actually a historical figure who studied, among other things, time travel. And why was most of the Oceanic calling him Jeremy Bentham? If they had just met him once as Jeremy, wouldn’t they still be thinking of him as and calling him Locke… or at the very least John?
And how did he – and Ben – get off the island from wherever it moved to?
And lastly… Anyone notice how Locke looked an awful lot like Charles Widmore in that coffin? Speculations?
